Excellent Atlas of Dangerous Marine Organisms!

This is a well organized atlas with great color photos supplemented with stipled illustrations and other black and white artwork. The contents are as follows: Traumatogenic Animals, Venomous Invertebrates, Venomous Vertebrates, Invertebrates that are Poisonous to Eat, Vertebrates that are Poisonous to Eat, Electrogenic Animals, Advanced Medical Treatment, Bibliography, Acknowledgements, Index. This atlas covers sharks, stingrays, barracudas (many other fishes), moray eels, crocodiles, seals and sea lions, whales, sea snakes, anemones, sea urchins (echinoderms), molluscs, octopuses (cephalopods), and even polar bears. Each animal entry has common and scientific names, general comments about the group of organisms and specific information on certain species, description, habitat & other points (explains the danger), distribution with small global map, a trauma section with prevention & treatment, nice photos for each species and sometimes has photos of individuals wounds who have experienced trauma from the organism. This is a great book for ER/medical doctors, scuba divers, lifegaurds, marine biologists, boaters, aquarists and others interested in dangerous marine organisms.
